Brewers pitcher Jimmy Nelson, who has not played since injuring his shoulder in a game last September, is "unlikely" Larry Andersen Jersey to play this season, manager Craig Counsell said Wednesday.Nelson tore his rotator cuff and labrum diving back into a base, and initially had been expected to mi s the entire 2018 season. Yetgood progre s in his early rehabilitation work raised hopes he might pitch this year.Counsell all but ended that thought Wednesday."Jimmy pitching for us this year is unlikely,"Counsell said (via MLB.com). "That's not due to a setback of any nature. It's just due to the pace of his rehab right now. We're not ruling it 100 percent out, but probably our best goal is to get him into a competitive situation before he shuts it down for the offseason."The 29-year-old right hander had developed into one of the Brewers' most dependable starterslast year, his fourth full season. He posted a 12-6 mark, Rhys Hoskins Jersey 3.49 ERA and 1.25 WHIP.Now, Nelson can work toward a return in spring training, which Counsell said could be helpful to him."It takes some pre sure off," Counsell said. "But at the same time, it's a little disappointing. Really, what happened here was he had a great start to this thing. We thought it was probably going to be this whole season, but he had a great Chuck Klein Jersey start that caused some optimism, but now he just get back to what we kind of thought in the first case, when the best-case scenario was we'd have him ready for the start of the 2019 season."
