Tank you for your interest in the startup school event that was scheduled to take place on July 18th.
Unfortunately, as most of you are aware, the swine flu epidemic has not subsided in Hong Kong and has resulted in local school closures. Given the sensitivity of holding large public events in this current environment, the Association has decided to move the startup school to Q4 2009.
In its place, we will be holding a free expanded workshop on July 18th at Cyberport entitled “IP & Cash: Two cornerstones Of Every Startup”.
The Hong Kong Startup Association (www.hksua.com.hk) will be running a workshop at Cyberport on several very important aspects of running a startup namely intellectual property, entrepreneurship, legal considerations as well as fundraising for startups.
We are delighted to feature three distinguished speakers: Mark Parsons from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, who will share important practical guidance on intellectual property for startup entrepreneurs, Dr Waishun Lo of CUHK's EMBA programme on entrepreneurship, and John Lo, Partner of Hong Kong law firm Arculli Fong & Ng and author of a recently published book on angel financing, who will share his views on raising capital.
The event is free of charge and will be held in the training rooms 1-3 of Cyberport (details available here:
http://www.cyberport.com.hk/misc/cyberportmap/gis_index.htm) commencing at 1pm and ending at 4pm. Capacity is limited to 50 attendees.
Free transport will be provided to and from Admiralty and light refreshments will be served.
To register for this event, please send an email to
[email protected] with your name, email address and company if applicable. Alternatively you can register for this event specifically on the
http://hkstartups.ning.com website.
Anyone with an interest in technology, entrepreneurship and law should attend and we look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.
Regards,
HKSUA
